About the Role

Under the guidance of our leadership team, the Marketing & Events Coordinator Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Content Planning, Creation, and Execution:

  • You will co-create and execute on a comprehensive content plan for our communications channels (LinkedIn and compassdata.ca). Our leadership team would like to keep our company, brand, and its people, top of mind on LinkedIn. This will be a core focus for the internship. Candidates will receive stronger consideration if they have experience marketing in technology and data.
  • You will create engaging and impactful written and visual content, including articles, blog posts, graphics, and videos. These will be assets you will use in your plan to help enhance our online presence and engage our target audience. You will be provided direction from our leadership team on content our firm would like to have an emphasis on.
  • Nice to haves:
    • A candidate who has experience with marketing technology and data, specifically writing copy for both these spaces. We’re also looking for someone who can translate technical concepts into easy to understand and digestible content bits.
    • The ideal candidate also has graphic design skills but is not a must as we have branding templates built out. Strong organizational skills are a must in this role. Let us know if you've worked with Canva!

2. Customer Journey Creation and Automation:

  • You will co-create our customer journeys with the goal of showcasing the value we bring to our clients. You will help define the journeys and campaigns that need to be implemented along with their supporting technologies.

3. Data Community Event Coordination:

  • Compass loves bringing together the data community, both virtually and in-person. You’ll be collaborating with different team members to plan and coordinate data community events. Our events aim to foster engagement, knowledge sharing, and networking within the data community.
  • Specifically, you’ll be assisting with event logistics (event set-up, attendee registration, event tear-down), sending out invitations, creating promotional materials, and sending out post-event follow-ups. You may be asked to be the day-of-coordinator and ensure smooth operational success of the event.

4. Marketing Presentation Support:

  • Contribute to the development of marketing presentations by gathering and organizing relevant data, creating visually appealing slides, and ensuring presentations are clear, concise, and aligned with our brand and technology brand guidelines.

5. Lead and Content Management:

  • Support the maintenance of a centralized content management system, ensuring that all marketing materials, documents, and assets are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the team.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and information necessary for content creation and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members, updating them on progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Technology, Marketing, Communications, or a related field from a Canadian university or college
  • Must be either in their final year of studies or within one (1) semester of degree completion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technology and data understanding and its value to organizations.
  • Hyper organized and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Interest in working in the data analytics and technology sector.
